After a private sector career as owner of a local Architectural services firm and as a construction superintendent, Peter Dourlein has recently retired from a 32 year career at the University of Arizona, most recently as Associate Vice President of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) and the University Architect. 

During his tenure he and his team successfully led over $3 Billion of campus development and was an early adopter and advocate of alternative project delivery and the benefits of Design/Build.  He oversaw firm selections for design and constructions projects and all of the units responsible for the physical development of campus (Real Estate Administration, Planning/Landscape Architecture, Design group, Engineering group, Building Inspection, Construction group, GIS development and application, Space Management, and including the PDC IT and Business & Finance support units) at the University of Arizona. 

He's been a member and/or contributor of the AIA, AUA, APPA, MPA, ABA, the Cornerstone Foundation organizations and other Project Owner forums.  He is an avid advocate for the design and construction industry and member of many associations and Owner advocacy groups that work to advance our industry.  

Peter is applying his unique Owner representative experience to provide meaningful consulting and training services to help A/E/C firms earn more work and more repeat work.  His background also makes him highly qualified to help Owners and institutions improve their capital development and firm selection processes.
