Entertainment & Activities
Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for operational excellence, Reid Park Zoo's mission is to connect people and animals to inspire the protection of wild animals and wild places. As you walk the lush pathways of this 24-acre zoological garden and conservation center, you'll meet animals native to places around the world, including African elephants, giraffe, lions, Andean bears, squirrel monkeys, capybara and more in naturalistic habitats. Check out daily zoo keeper chats to get the inside scoop on the animals and their care, feed a giraffe, take a carousel ride, or let the kids get the zoomies out in the World of Play. Opening November 13, 2026, the new 4.5-acre Pathway to Asia addition will take guests on a fascinating journey to the world's largest continent where they'll encounter iconic species such as red pandas, Komodo dragon, sand cats, Lar gibbons, straw colored fruit bats, Asian small clawed otters, and the majestic Malayan tiger, among others. Pathway to Asia's architecture is inspired by aspects of ancient Khmer architecture in Angkor, Cambodia with intricate stone facades that are crafted to look centuries old while housing modern, state-of-the-art habitats. A new indoor Kasser Family Lotus Pavilion is a distinct meeting space providing seating for up to 300 in air-conditioned comfort with full audio-visual capabilities and full-service catering. The Zoo offers year-round education programs, behind-the-scenes tours, and special events, including the annual Boo at the Zoo, ZooLights, Summer Safari Nights, and Wine Gone Wild.
